The Picnic Pack

Here's another super simple gift idea: The Picnic Pack. I like to keep a basket or tote ready for picnics, BBQ's or potluck dinners. Being able to grab it and go is a big deal for me. Here's an easy way to organize your cutlery and napkins.

I just took a placemat, folded the bottom up and stitched pockets every two inches, until I had six pockets. The remainder is just the right size for napkins. Before stitching the right side, I inserted two ties (ribbon would work too) between the layers. Each "pack" can hold two sets of utensils.

For a recent gift, I paired this with a vinyl tablecloth and a mini-cooler that could hold a six-pack of soda. I put it all in a big tote bag with a square bottom that was just the right size for the cooler. Throw in some disposable or sturdy plates and cups and you're set.
